TESDA WNAS SERVICE VEHICLE and 4x4 TRACTOR

 TESDA WNAS recently acquired a 15-seater commuter van, a service vehicle for the WNAS employees in providing effective and efficient services to its clientele and stakeholders as they will be transacting to other government agencies. This vehicle will give them comfort and safety as they travel from one place to another to conduct official business. The service vehicle also represents the TESDA WNAS image as an institution.

 Aside from the Commuter van, TESDA WNAS also acquired one (1) unit of 4x4 tractor with an implement for the Agricultural Crops Production NC I and NC III of which one of the core competencies in this qualification is land preparation cultivation through the use of mechanized equipment like tractors for plowing and harrowing operation. The use of Mechanized equipment in land preparation will capacitate and hone the trainees during the training and develop their new skills in land preparation.

The TESDA Wangan National Agricultural School is a leading institution in TESDA region XI that offers twenty-three (23) registered programs in the tourism, Agri-Fishery, and Automotive and Land Transportation sector, two (2) Diploma programs, and is a registered assessment center for seventeen (17) qualifications. The school is a hands-on training school that develops skilled graduates.

2022 TESDA WNAS Women’s Month Celebration

 

TESDA Wangan National Agricultural School celebrates women’s month through various activities, Zumba fever in the morning and Gender sensitivity development symposium in the afternoon on March 18, 2022, at WNAS gymnasium. The following day, March 19, 2022, Bread and Pastry Production laboratory of the PNP-RTC XI women in uniform at Wangan National Agricultural School.

On March 18, 2022 - TESDA WNAS School Administrator II Engr. Melanie M. Domingo graced the activity through her opening remarks, she emphasized the essence of the celebration which is to empower the women and respect them because the women of today’s era have the capability of what men have. As the theme “We make change work for women” ensures contribution and benefit from the development and change that women could ever have. After the opening remarks, the Zumba fever follows of which all TESDA employees and staff, students of DAT batch 1,2, and 3, students of DHRT batch 1,2, and 3, trainees of Animal Production Ruminants NC II, and Trainees of Organic Agriculture Production NC II join in Zumba dancing.

During the afternoon, a symposium was initiated TESDA WNAS invited two speakers from IGDD Ms. Lorna Mandin who discussed Gender Sensitivity Development, and Ms. Catalina Gales on the rights of Women. The symposium was very informative as we learn so much information regarding women’s rights, and how to be able to empower women in this generation.

 March 19, 2022 – The PNP RTC XI women in uniform together with the PNP women trainees conducted their laboratory activity on the qualification Bread and Pastry Production NC II at TESDA WNAS. The trainees perform the four (4) core competencies of BPP NC II which are the Prepare and produce bakery products, Prepare and produce pastry products, Prepare and present gateaux, tortes, and cakes, and Prepare and display petits fours. As the month celebrates women’s empowerment, these PNP women trainees are indeed empowered through the skills that they gain in Bread and Pastry Production.

 

March of every year, the nation recognizes women’s valuable role in society and proves that inclusive and sustainable development is only possible when gender equality becomes obtainable. In this month also, the country informs and engages women as pioneers and beneficiaries of government programs and services – to promote citizen-centric governance and make “change” a conscious effort to know, understand, and provide what ALL citizens need. And most especially inspires and empowers women and girls to be agents of change – to contribute to promoting gender equality and the empowerment of all women.

Series of Toolkit Distribution

 The TESDA Wangan National Agricultural School released starter toolkits to the scholars of the Brgy. Marilog Proper in Perform Pre-lay and Lay Activities (Leading to Animal Production Poultry-Chicken NC II), scholars of Sitio Sicao Brgy. Tamayong, Calinan District, Davao City in Animal Production Poultry Chicken NC II last February 8, 2022 under STEP Scholarship Program.

 

February 9, 2022 Releasing of Starter Toolkits to the scholars of Brgy. New Valencia, Tugbok District, Davao City in Raise meat-type Animals, scholars of Sitio Ballah, Brgy. Salaysay, Marilog District, Davao City in Raise Organic Small Ruminants, and PNP and AFP scholars in Automotive NC II under STEP Scholarship Program.

 

The scholars were very thankful and happy to receive their starter toolkits that consist of the following; one (1) unit Wheelbarrow, one (1) pc shovel, one (1) pc Weighing Scale, one (1) pc knapsack, one (1) pc Plastic pail for qualification Raise meat-type Animals and Raise organic Small Ruminants.  One (1) knapsack sprayer, one (1) tubular waterer, one (1) Tubular Feeder, one (1) plastic pail, and one (1) pc shovel for the qualification Animal Production (Poultry Chicken NC II) scholars and Perform pre-lay and Lay Activities, While the Automotive NC II Scholars received the following: One (1) pc Combination Wrench, one (1) pc Feeler gauge, one (1) socket wrench, and One (1) set Screw driver.
